Hair Loss due to Drugs

While hair loss is natural in the telogen phase of the hair growth cycle, drugs can cause hair loss - either mildly - for several weeks or months after taking certain drugs (or after a severe illness or traumatic event) can lead to unusual hair loss.

There are two main types of hair loss: Telogen effluvium (temporary hair loss) and Anagen effluvium (severe and sudden hair loss).

Following is a list of drugs, courtesy of www.drugwatch.com, that may cause either type of hair loss. This list is current as of 8/1/10.
