Does propecia
cause sexual dysfunction?

Q: I read that propecia, used for hair growth and regrowth, causes sexual dysfunction. Is that true?

A: We encourage you to take propecia because it is like fertilizer and helps with hair growth but you discontinue it when the hair transplant has grown out. We will recommend you take 1 MG per day. One size does not fit all, so you may not need to take it everyday if you think you are having sexual problems or erectile dysfunction.

It is our experience that these problems are rare - it is best to speak with Dr. Lawrence Shapiro before you decide to stop it yourself. In fact it has been shown that finisteride is a DHT blocker and is used to treat benign prostate hyperplasia which prevents or slows an enlargement of the prostate.
