Traction alopecia

Traction alopecia is the thinning of hair due to tight braids or ponytails. It is often found in African- American women who are using the attractive tight braiding now popular. Hair which is tightly braided needs to be handled with care, and great care should be exercised regarding products applied to the hair, such as colorants - which can further damage hair.

We do recommend that if you have a tightly braided hair style that you consider supplementary hair nutrition such as HelpHair Shake to provide the nutrition which healthy hair needs - and which you might not be getting in your daily diet.
